Meet the Team
Diane
I am the owner of Diane's Pet Supplies and Adoption Center. I have worked with animals since I was 12 years old at: kennels, veterinary offices, pet shops, and pet grooming salons. I started my store with the concept that you can earn a living by doing what you enjoy and still give back to the animal world. In 2008 my husband Dr. Steve Silberman D.V.M. and I opened the Affordable Spay Neuter Clinic, which is on-premise at Diane's. We have two daughters, and three dogs all adopted from the Adoption Center and five cats. I enjoy trail running, Spartan races, working out at the gym, and spending my spare time with my family. |

I have been working with animals for over 22 years, Twenty of which have been here at Diane's. I have three awesome cats and a leopard gecko named Salem. I've also had several small fish tanks and nano planted aquariums over the years. Most of my off hours I spend taking my wonderful daughter to her various Kung Fu, Girl Scout and school band practices and meetings. One of my favorite things about working here is seeing the happy endings of the hard-luck adoption cases. Seeing a dog come into the adoption center with bad physical health, scared or neglected and then seeing them visit with their new family and they are happy and loved is so amazing! |

I started working at Diane's cleaning and caring for the animals 25 years ago. I have attended many seminars. I am currently canine, feline, avian, freshwater and saltwater fish certified. I am in complete control of all facets of the fish department. I love all the animals that we have at the store but my passion is for the world that lives underwater. I have also successfully raised orphaned squirrels, raccoons, bunnies, and even chipmunks with the help of a licensed wildlife rehabber. I have two mixed breed dogs I adopted from the adoption center, four cats, one 75-gallon freshwater tank and 1'000 gallon pond I built myself. I like to spend my spare time with my three daughters and husband. I enjoy painting, writing and target shooting. I could not imagine life without pets. |

I have worked in the pet industry for 25 years. I love working with animals! I can't imagine life without them. I have three dogs, four cats, and a 90-gallon freshwater aquarium. I have fostered many motherless puppies and kittens. I also like sports, chocolate, and baking. |

I started working at Diane's in 2016. I was a stay-at-home wife and hated it! I needed to be around people. I applied because I love being around people and animals and haven't regretted a moment! I have learned a lot about animals since working here. You will find me holding and socializing all of our animals so they have the best chance of finding a great home. I truly find it rewarding when pups or dogs come in scared out of their minds, some from the worst situations I have ever seen, and they blossom to become loving and trusting animals. Seeing them find their forever homes is why I do what I do! |

I started at Diane's as a temp and I liked the work and my fellow employees so much that I can't leave. I currently have a dog named Hazel and a cat named Deddle Bug and 3 Dumbo rats. I've learned (and am always learning) so many new things. Its very exciting seeing so many wonderful pets find their forever homes. I'm looking forward to many years of working here helping the animals! |

My love for animals began a very long time ago. Growing up with Diane as a second mom, I’ve been around the pet store since it opened. I have learned so many things and have had tons of awesome opportunities and experiences with animals! I enjoy being part of rescue and a small business setting. When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my husband and four children! |

We are the Gibson girls aka the Gibby sisters. My name is Calla (I am on the right hand side), I have been with Diane’s since 2011 but my animal experience has quite literally been since birth as my mother has a boarding and grooming facility called the Unique Pet Care in Elverson, Pa. I am certainly following in my mother’s footsteps as I am now a veterinary technician for The Affordable Spay Neuter Clinic since 2015. Diane and her husband scooped me up under their wings and taught me the meaning of rescue. Since then, I have started my own 501(c)3 non-profit cat rescue (Calla’s Critter Rescue circa 2020), you can see my kitties at Diane’s available for adoption. Without Diane and Dr. Steve I would not be who I am today. I plan to attend veterinary school in the near future but in the meantime I enjoy rescuing cats (of course), being outdoors, traveling (to Hawaii) and photography. I also housesit in my spare time and have since graduated from Delaware Valley University in 2020 with a Bachelors in Science and minored in Large Animals. |

I’ve been helping at Diane’s for about 8 years with the birds on the weekends. I’ve always had a passion for animals of all kinds, especially the ones that people typically aren’t fans of. When I was little you’d find me carrying my stuffed animals EVERYWHERE. I’ve grown up with a cat, parakeets, and some bunnies and I have had many rats. I also volunteered time walking dogs at the spca in high school. When I’m not at the store, I’m home with my fiancé, and our dog, two cats and bearded dragon. I spend my free time with my family, working on painting pet portraits, sewing colorful plush bats, or adventuring somewhere pretty and exciting! My favorite food is parmesan cheese, I like metal music, scary movies and gnarly muscle cars. |
