Hello Diane!
We've been customers for many years and let me first say how pleased I
am to see your efforts in rescuing dogs from shelters! While I
enjoyed stopping by and seeing the puppies on my way to grab our
dog food for the
week, I absolutely LOVE that rescues are being offered. Our pets are
all very special to us, but our rescued pets have this sort of
personality that's hard to describe. It's almost like they knew what
would've happened to them had we not adopted them.
We adopted our dog, Sandy, from your store about 7-8 years ago. A
customer brought her in, complaining that she was vicious with his
children, scratched them up, etc. When he was told by the staff that
you did not have room to accept her back, he threatened to leave her
in the parking lot. I came walking in and was spotted by Mary, who
knew I was a total beagle lady! Within a few minutes, my kids and I
were on our way home with a bag of food and a new doggie! Sandy's
first few years here were challenging for her due to her intense
anxiety. Our vet determined she was quite abused in her year with
that family, and that we needed to be careful of her around our
children. Sandy never, ever presented a problem with our kids. Her
problem was that, anytime my husband came home from work, she'd have
accidents out of fear. Today, she's a queen, and sleeps in between my
husband and I on the bed. Thank you for giving her a 2nd chance at
adoption, because our family is blessed by her, and by having the
chance to love her! I type this as she's laying on the sofa watching
football.
Thanks and take good care! Many blessings in your rescue work with
the TN dogs!

Diane,
As a fellow business manager I thought it would be nice to hear some
positive thoughts instead of constant complaints. I just wanted to let
you know how great the people are that you have working for you. My
wife
and I visited your store a month or two ago to look at the puppies. We
happened to read the article you had in regards to the poor dog foods
that are out there. We decided to ask one of the young ladies who was
tending to the pups about what she would suggest as far as food goes.
She was fantastic! She gave us about a 20 minute lesson on each of the
different foods you sold. She pointed out the benefits of each and
then
helped us choose what was best for our two Shiba Inu's. She could not
have been more polite or helpful, sadly I do not recall her name, but
I
do know she owned a Shiba Inu herself.
Fast forward to this past weekend. I was looking into purchasing a 12
gallon Nano Cube and I stopped in to ask some questions. Chris was
fantastic as he walked me through everything I would need, how to set
it
up and what to do with the Live Rock. So I went home and got on the
internet to read about them before I made my purchase. I could have
purchased the Nano Cube online for about 20-30% less, however because
of the people you hired and all of the help and service they have
provided me, I went back to your store to make my purchase.
As I said I am a small business manager and its extremely difficult to
find good people. I just wanted to let you know, you have one more
loyal customer simply because of who you have working for you. You
have
people that care about their jobs and not just a pay check.
Sincerely,
Brent

Diane,
When my parents moved from Sanatoga to North Coventry about 19 years
ago, they decided it was time to look for a dog. Over the next few
years, we had nothing but bad experiences with dogs that we attempted
to rescue from shelters because they all ended up being too aggressive
for a family of 3 young children. Then one day about 1993, my mother
went to Diane's Pets to get food for our hamsters and she fell in love
with a dog who would from then on be known as Rusty. He was a tan
cockapoo puppy who Diane rescued from a bad situation along with his
sister. If I remember correctly, she said that he was abused and/or
crate bound 24-7 until she rescued him and took him under her wing.
When we adopted him, my parents were impressed with Diane's
neuter/spay program that she uses through her store and we promptly
got him neutered and we took great care of him. He was the nicest dog
with the most expressive face and he never once growled or threatened
another animal or human. I can remember when I was around 14, walking
a couple of miles from our home to Diane's Pets to buy him a new
collar with the money that I earned from my first paycheck at my first
job as a dishwasher at the Coventry Diner. Over the next 15 years,
Rusty was a great dog that gave our family nothing but happiness and
friendship right up until the end. About 3 months ago, he had to be
euthanized for his inability to function and enjoy life as we always
knew him. He is now buried in our back yard and he was buried wearing
the collar that I purchased with my paycheck from my very first job.
Our family can not express how much we loved the dog that we found
through your business.
I wanted to write you this letter to display my gratitude towards your
continuing dedication to your efforts. I do not know of another pet
store where I can go and know that each and every pet there is cared
about. All over the place there are big box stores that sell things
for ten cents cheaper than the place next door but I know that when I
pay that extra ten cents at Diane's Pets, that extra ten cents is
helping a cause that is driven by a person who actually cares. That is
the number one reason why I chose to take my new cat to the ASNC to
have her spayed.
Thank You,
STH

Dear Diane,
My name is
Alison. I wanted to write because of the wonderful people I have
found at your establishment. I was in on Tuesday morning and I spoke
with Terry. I lost my 10 year old weimaraner Vixen due to a cancerous
tumor in her spleen. It was a shock to us. She was the best
companion you could ask for. We miss her dearly. I visited your
store to look for a collar and leash for our new weimaraner that will
come home to us in November. I spoke with Terry for quite some time
about food, collars, crates, etc. She was exceptionally helpful and
sealed my decision to purchase all of our supplies and food from you.
I felt that she took the time to answer my questions and explain
things to me like no one I have ever experienced. She seemed very
knowledgeable about different food, crate training, etc. and I felt
like I am more prepared to handle our new puppy. Thank you for
providing such a great store, knowledgeable people and services to our
community. It is very much appreciated. Keep up the great work and
Thanks again.
Warm regards,
Alison

Hi Diane,
I e-mailed you a few weeks ago regarding the white puppies in your store. I wanted to thank you and let you know we are thrilled with the newest member of our family. "Scruffy" is amazing. We brought him home last week (Tuesday) and he has been such a joy. The girl in the store, who I met with twice, was also amazing. She really helped me prepare for my first puppy and made it very easy. Scruffy is now enjoying lying around the house and long walks to the bus stop each morning with my girls.
Thank you!
Christine
