Pet Adoption
The hundreds of the animals we help were once pets, and through no fault of their own, found themselves homeless, injured, or abandoned. With donations and the kindness and generosity of the public we have found homes for thousands of animals over the past 35 years. Our on-going mission is to provide community education as to the needs and care of animals, and public awareness regarding the importance of spaying and neutering. Our ultimate goal is to reduce or eliminate euthanasia in shelters. Every animal deserves a chance to find a loving home!
Dogs and Puppies
Adoptions include: Vaccines, de-worming, topical flea control, heartworm testing and monthly prevention, microchipping, medical care and spaying/neutering or a $75-$100 Spay/Neuter Deposit. Out-of-state rescue dogs also include a transport fee of $100 or more and fees for a health certificate issued from a licensed veterinarian. We are often asked, why a rescue would ask for a $500 donation for a rescue pet? Why not just place the dog in a good home for free? The answer is because they need adopters who are willing to support all rescue pets, not just the highly adoptable dog they adopt. A young, healthy highly adoptable dog might cost the rescue $200-$300 in veterinary care, transport, health certificate and boarding. An older dog or one with health issues can easily cost the rescue $500-$2,000 in veterinary expenses alone, and may require months of boarding. The rescue can only ask a minimal donation for these dogs and it may be a very long time until anyone comes forward to adopt it. The adoption donations from the younger, more adoptable dogs help offset the cost of caring for the others. Many of the dogs we take in have suffered through years of neglect or abuse. The rescue does not turn these dogs away. We hope that you too are willing to give an opportunity for a better life to ALL of the rescue dogs by supporting them through donations.
